Safety first! Learn why it’s important to respect the arc of the propeller. I realize that the wings are off the plane, so there are no fuel tanks connected. You still MUST respect the propeller. You never know if there is a little bit of fuel in the carburetor. It only takes a tiny bit to make the engine want to run! I also realize that Rotax motors require you to operate the prop on a daily b...

"I Crashed My Plane" Review of Trevor Jacob Crash
This video is the very best of what RUclips has to offer. Thank you.
Wow. High praise!
You look like a professional Maddie, congratulations for your great achievements
I wonder what the engine overhaul costs. $100k?
I think the crankshaft is over $30,000.
@@quinnjim That's an order of magnitude more than the price of a decent automobile crate engine.
Legend. I replaced and returned at least 5 different parts on my heater air can and paper clip did the trick. Thank you.
Awesome! Sometimes it’s the simplest thing.
Thanks so much for the clear and complete instructions. I was seconds away from calling for help when your video solved my problem.
The Time going fast... :-)
Cirrus flying I pad ?? wellllll if you realy like it ok but keep it for awhile then
Did you stumble upon your next buy? lol What a fantastic airplane. Are those TC? Do they need to be TC? lol. I mean at 12,500 probably still making 250hp+ right. Be interesting to know the real numbers on that. Thanks for sharing. A real beaut.
I don’t think the guy would sell it. It is not turbo charged. He says 195 knots true pretty consistently.
A friend has one, I always tease him that it has the same fuel burn of a Staggerwing! Without the class! Also they are not as fast as the twin commanche
The Twin Comanche is about 30 knots slower. The turbo charged TWINCO is definitely faster. I have a lot of time riding around in a stagger wing. What a dream airplane!
@@quinnjim You need to fly the Miller twin. It is a rocket. I have spent the last 30 years doing the annuals on a friend Staggerwing. It is the most impressive plane I have ever worked on. And one of the easiest planes to fly.
Very Nice... ';-)
Wow, nice
Are you buying it then over the cirrus?
Nope. We still want a Cirrus. We might upgrade to a G6 over the one in the last video though. I may have already replaced the RV-6A with something fun. Stay tuned!!
So clean. Very nice looking plane.
Beautiful plane.
ok go buy it and we look forward to you flying this lol and Hope You and Your Family are doing well in the skies
I’m still looking at the Cirrus. I may have already bought a fun airplane to replace the RV-6A. Stay tuned!
@@quinnjim flying I pad realy well it is cool looking though
I just looked up the N number. This plane is no longer flying according to faa.gov. I wonder what happened?
It has flown 3 times this month according to FlightAware.

Just ordered the super slug was wondering what slugs are you using currently partion gold no longer in production was thinking remington accutip but any information would be greatly appreciated
I bought a bunch of the partition gold when I got the gun. I still have some, so I haven't tried anything different yet!
Excellent video if possible can we swe more videos on remington super slug
I have taken a LOT of deer with it. It's a real sniper rifle (for a slug gun). RUclips has taken down some of my gun videos. They really hate them. Thanks for watching!
My fuse kept blowing when I turned on AC. Called HVAC repair and they diagnosed and replaced the contactor on the AC unit to fix it (old one's resistance/Ohm reading was off). I’ve got a funky wind issue as well with dual GI-275’s. My course was 181. My heading was 187 (6 degree right crab)… with winds aloft of 296@13… but my 275 shows a 6 knot tailwind (about right) but a 12 knot crosswind left to right. Huh? Crosswind should be right to left! It’s backwards!
I don't know why Garmin can't get the math right.
Turn the 177 into the Cirrus, keep the RV
Sure. Can I borrow $70,000?😀
Well, you asked the question and it’s evident you really like the RV and really like the Cirrus. Is there an attachment to the Cardinal? And let’s be honest…you’ve been spending a lot of money on hangers, 150’s, engines, and avionics…so it didn’t seem like the Cirrus was out of reach…
Could this happen on a heater that has been working for 3 weeks? Can it still clog?
I think a spider can clog it up in a couple days.
Go with the Siris and ENJOY
Why not sell the 177 and have the RV & Cirrus? Then you'd have a nice family cruiser and a plane you could do gentleman's aerobatics and or more efficient solo cruising.
That would be great, but I do have a budget to consider. The plan is to buy a basic RV-4 for half the price of my Rv-6 for fun. I need more tailwheel time anyway.😀
You talk like you want the Cirrus (back). A partnership is an economical way to go, provided you have the right partner. You'll not regret the time with your daughter & possibly easier to move on from the partnership when you're ready...in two more years. I think your RV will fetch a good price given the quality & upgrades. Good luck! : )
The RV actually sold very quickly. I still want an RV in the fleet...probably a 4
Dude!!!! You rock! Thank you sir! I owe you a steak!
GREAT to hear! So frustrating when they don't fire up in the Spring.
Get a Cessna TTX
Those are awesome. The Cirrus I have an opportunity to buy is a known quantity (no hidden issues with it). That is my best option right now.
Cirrus....
Very simple 😊😊
Hey Him, Personally I'm NOT A Big Experimental Guy... The Cirrus is a "Much Better and Viable for ME Sir" and I believe that you too know that based on this video message! Thanks for asking for my 2 cents ';-)
It's tough to find a well built experimental. I'm definitely looking forward to owning something made in this century as well! Good to hear from you.
Maybe trade the 177 for the Cirrus and keep the 6? Or trade the 6 for the Cirrus and get an RV3!
RV-3 or RV-4 for sure.
Me personally I don't play well with others. The partnership would never work out for me. But partnerships has its positive and its negatives. The negatives was my issues.
I have had some bad partnerships. I am now VERY careful with whom I partner. I've got some good guys lined up!
Well, N11111 is for sale too. Just saying. A partnership also means you will be staying in Chi town for many more years???? If you subtracted the cost of ownership from that $100,000 the last Cirrus is worth today, what is the net gain? Did the last Cirrus need the 10 year parachute replaced? This one will need a new chute in 2 years. And, according to one YT channel, they are hard to come by these days. I forget the labor charge, wasn’t cheap. I think you need a PT 6 out front myself. Best Wishes!
The Cirrus parachute is actually due every 10 years, so this one needs one in 2. The parts supply problem has been largely fixed. My shop said 5-8 weeks lead time is all they need. You are selling the Aerostar? That is another great option!
@@quinnjim-Not my Aerostar, it’s well know Aerostar YT provider Eric Reese, my mistake on the Cirrus parachute years. You might like YT provider JR Aviation’s post awhile back on his Cirrus SR 20 chute. RUclips will not let me post the links. Thanks for the reply and best wishes to you and your family!
@@thesearcherman6652 I watched that video. I have a buddy who waited a year for his chute too. We called our service center and they said they have gotten caught up with the parts problem Cirrus was having. We are still going to order ours 6-8 months early!
@@quinnjim- I shouldn’t have said anything, You got it all figured out. But, maybe checkout the 2025 Corvette C8 ZR1 if you get bored. 👍
How bout instead of a (I'll guess) a partnership in a $400k cirrus, you get a nicely maintained Saratoga for yourself. You can pick those up all day for 200k or a bit less - and you'd have a great 145-160kt / 16 g/hr. xcty plane -- w/o a partner. Sure, it flies like a truck, but when you want to have fun, you'd still have the RV. I know all this stuff because I AM LIKE YOU AND ALWAYS LOOKING AT ANOTHER AIRPLANE! -- it's like a disease and you're right, it's always about 2 years and it doesn't matter how damn good my current plane already is ------ you're always looking at the next one! when you find a cure for THAT -- lemme know..........
The Saratoga is on the radar for sure. I rarely need a plane of that size though. I looked hard at the A36 as well.
Do the Cirrus 👍🏻
Flying boat
The Cirrus seems more practical. The parachute adds a layer of options when you need them most plus it’s just a durn good airplane!
Yeah, I'm a fan of the Cirrus. I think it's a good way to go.
I agree with the RV10! best of both worlds.
Please put your panel in my RV-7 before you go…..😂
Going to a G1000 from 8 years ago is definitely a step BACKWARDS. I love the G3X touch.
A Kodiak 100 😅
Solid choice.
Nice 6A! I own a slider 9A. Also had to look at a LOT of used RVs before I found mine. it's hard to find a good one. Keep the RV. :)
If an Rv4 with a tailwheel is "manning up" , going to a Cirrus, especially a 20, is going in the other direction from manning up. Get a tailwheel RV , and rent a 4 seater for the rare times it's needed.
I do too much flying to not have a 4 seater. The Cirrus is a great machine, but the folks who fly them definitely have a reputation! Tailwheel RV is definitely in the plan someday.
@@quinnjim I have a RV7 tailwheel and a Cessna 170. Love flying them both. Don't you have a 177 for a 4 seater?
@@coorsleftfield I do, but I'd like to have a modern 4 seater, then a RV-4 for the "toy" airplane. The 177 is wonderful, but 50 year old planes need a lot of work. The Cirrus is practically brand new.
I own an RV6A. I love it. But most of my flying is done VFR and solo. Don’t fly at night. If money was no issue I’d buy the SR22. In a partnership you will cut costs by 50% and still get all the benefits. The RV should fetch $125k+ in todays market. Go for it.
You know the market! I think the Cirrus and a RV-4 would be perfect.
Have you considered Lancair 4s? For the same money you could get a pressurized turbine one.
I think the insurance and fuel bill would be a little out of my budget. Great plan, though.
RV 10 is what you need.
I was thinking the same thing
I would prefer a 10 over the Cirrus, but I don’t have partners who agree with that plan. I may need you again for my RV-4 checkout!
You’ll regret selling it. They ALL DO!!! Plus look at all the hangar room with the RV in there. You’ve got the plane that does it all. Only gripe is throwing stuff in baggage compartment. That’s it.
I will definitely buy another one. I’d just keep it VFR though. Love the RV lineup.
